BloFin

Daily loss limit and kill switch for BloFin

BloFin gives you a stop-loss on each position, but nothing that ends the trading day. Connect a BloFin API key, set your daily loss limit once, and our engine enforces it: orders cancelled, positions closed, account locked until your next daily reset.

What happens when you breach your limit on BloFin

Three steps, in this order, every time. Your open orders are cancelled. Every open position is market-closed — then verified, and retried if the exchange says otherwise, because assuming an instruction landed is how a guard quietly fails. Then the account is locked for a cooldown.

The lock is written to the database before any closing starts, so a crash mid-close cannot leave you unlocked. It survives an engine restart and is lifted by the clock alone, never by an error. Anything you open during that window is closed on sight and does not count as a trade.

We cannot stop an order from reaching BloFin. No exchange hands a third party that switch, and anyone who says otherwise is selling something. What we do is close the position immediately after it opens and then confirm you are flat.

What is different about BloFin

We cover BloFin's USDT-margined perpetual futures. Your limits are in USDT, the figure BloFin shows you, and the daily reset happens early in the morning in your own timezone.

BloFin has no single "cancel everything" or "close everything" call. So the kill switch cancels your open orders, including take-profit, stop-loss and trigger orders, in batches, then closes each position on its own and confirms it. It works in one-way and hedge mode alike.

A BloFin key has three parts: the API key, the Secret Key and a passphrase you choose when you make it. You paste all three into TradeGuardX. If you lose the passphrase, make a new key; BloFin cannot show it again.

BloFin expires a key that has no IP address after 90 days. Add our IP when you make the key, and it keeps working until you delete it.

Which BloFin rules can TradeGuardX enforce?

All seven, with the same behaviour as on every other venue. It is one engine behind all of them, so a daily loss limit means the same thing on BloFin as it does anywhere else.

Daily Loss Protection

Closes & locks

Cancels every open order, market-closes every position, and locks the account until your next daily reset.

Measures trading result, so a deposit does not move it.

Max Trades Per Day

Closes & locks

Locks the account for the rest of the day once you hit your trade count.

Trades blocked by a lock are free — they do not count toward the limit.

Daily Profit Target

Closes & locks

Locks the day once you have BOOKED your target and are flat, so the win survives the afternoon.

It never force-closes an open winner.

Close After N Losses

Closes & locks

Pauses trading after a losing streak. Two tiers, each firing once per streak: a soft lock at your chosen count (3 losses → 3h by default) and a hard lock if it continues (5 → 12h).

A win resets the streak before either tier.

Risk Per Trade

Closes one position

Closes the single position whose stop-loss implies more risk than your limit, and leaves the rest of the account alone.

It does not cancel your other orders and does not lock the account.

Stop-Loss Protection

Alert only

Tells you a position is sitting open with no stop attached.

It never closes it. Force-closing you for not having set a stop yet would be worse than the problem.

Max Drawdown Lock

Alert only

Notifies when the account is down past your threshold from its starting balance.

Alert only today, despite the name — it does not close or lock. Do not rely on it as a floor.

How do I connect my BloFin account?

One key on BloFin, one paste into TradeGuardX. On BloFin you open API from the profile menu, create a key with Read and Trade, set a passphrase and add our IP. Then you paste the API Key, the Secret Key and the passphrase. About five minutes.

Can TradeGuardX withdraw my funds?

No, and you should refuse any risk tool that asks. Your funds never leave your own exchange wallet — we never hold them.

We only ask for Read and Trade, which let us see the account, cancel an order and close a position. BloFin's key form also offers Transfer; it stays off. BloFin API keys have no withdrawal permission at all.

The key is also pinned to a single IP address (13.205.214.83), so it only works from our engine and nowhere else. Your secret is encrypted with KMS before storage and is never shown again, not even to you.

BloFin questions

Does BloFin have a daily loss limit?

Not an account-wide one. BloFin gives you stop-loss and take-profit on each position, and those protect one trade at a time. Nothing stops you opening the next trade after a bad run. TradeGuardX adds that: a daily loss limit across the whole account that closes positions and locks trading when it is hit.

Which permissions does the BloFin API key need?

Read and Trade. Leave Transfer off. A Read-only key can never close a position, so the kill switch would do nothing; we check for it and refuse it when you connect. Add our IP (13.205.214.83) to the key, because BloFin expires keys with no IP after 90 days.

Why does TradeGuardX ask for my BloFin passphrase?

BloFin signs every API request with three things: the key, the secret and the passphrase you chose. Without the passphrase the key cannot be used at all. It is encrypted with the secret before storage and never shown again.

Can I connect a BloFin demo trading key?

No. Demo trading keys only work on BloFin's demo servers, and we watch real accounts. Make the key on your real BloFin account.

Is the BloFin kill switch for traders in India?

No. We list BloFin for traders outside India. If you trade crypto futures from India, connect Delta Exchange, CoinDCX or Shark Exchange instead; all three are live.

Does the kill switch still work if I trade from the BloFin app?

Yes. We hold a live connection to the account itself from our servers, so it makes no difference whether a trade came from the BloFin app, the website or a bot. If it reaches your account, we see it and act if it breaks a rule.
